A Cheer Dad's Perspective- 1-7-2020

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

As the new year has come I cannot help but think of all the things we accomplished in the year of 2019. It was a big year for us at Cheer Trixx. We moved into a nice space where we can grow and expand. It has been an amazing ride and it has me wanting more. Honestly I have been watching cheer videos all off season. I have been learning more terms and digging into the rules more and more. I even toyed with the idea of joining an open team (I did not for reasons. Maybe next year). I have really become more and more engaged in this life of cheer. I can’t think of anything I’d rather spend time on at this point. Like I’ve caught myself watching cheer videos during my free time at work. When I look back at when I first started watching cheer and going to competitions to now I have truly fallen in love with this sport. I wear my cheer jacket to work and if I could fit my daughter’s national championship jackets I would wear them too. No I’m joking but I am really proud of my gym and my athletes. The coaches at Cheer Trixx are some of the best coaches around and it makes me happy to see the impact they have on my children but all the athletes at the gym.

So it’s 2020 and Cheer Trixx is looking stronger than ever am truly excited about what we have going on and I love we are doing things we haven’t done before and pushing our limits. All the new skills and all the new levels are amazing and I know we as a gym are destine for greatness. I made a hype video a few months back and it started as this little project then it became this huge video that brought out so much emotion. I am proud to be involved with an organization that give major family vibes. I’ve opened up and found my place. I couldn’t see myself or my children anywhere else because the coaches, owners, and other athletes have given us so much and have done so much for us and we are thankful. I know I haven’t done much writing over the last year, I was doing some soul searching. But I will be updating regularly because why not blog and talk about something I love this much! This isn’t just a sport it’s a lifestyle and I love this lifestyle!

Coach Jodi-1-6-2020

Well, here I am on a Sunday night in the same clothes as I went to bed in, the same clothes I wore all day yesterday, re-hydrating and replaying the 16 hour day I had yesterday. The life of a cheer gym owner and cheer coach. My name is Jodi Ventimiglia and aside form being a full time working APN, mom of 3 beautiful babes and wife to my incredibly supportive cheerleading hating husband, I am also the Director of a newly formed cheerleading program, Titan Cheer Alliance. Myself and my best friends decided that our daughters needed much more then what they were being “given” in our former affiliated organization. We spent many years battling township boundaries, adult egos, and incredibly difficult social circumstances. In 2018 We decided enough was enough! Its been an incredible journey ever since. In just one season we have built a performance rec program with numbers in the 100’s. Multiple teams at all levels. We have managed to provide our athletes with the best of the best equipment, coaches and a fantastic spring floor. The best part? Its all done through fundraising. We are currently a non profit organization with a volunteer coaching staff and a volunteer board. There are many days that I am in the gym 7 days a week after working in the hospital for 9-10 hours a day. In fact, we all work. There is not one single person in my gym that I can say I don’t trust with all of my heart and I truly believe that is why we have grown so successful in such a short period of time. You know what they say about having a village? I have the best village and the most incredible athletes. TCA currently houses a Travel competitive Tiny level 1 “The Incredibles” a youth 1 “Lady Marvels”, a Senior 3 “Lady Storm” and a junior 4 “Legends”. Yesterday we made our debut to the Performance rec world at our first Varsity event and holy cow it was amazing!!!! Our Junior 4 who has been struggling a bit, being that they are in a rebuilding year, showed UP, AND SHOWED OUT. Winning an at large BID to The Quest! There was over 42 teams fighting for these bids and we took one of those home. We still have 3 more teams that need bids so I hope you all will continue to follow us over at Titan Cheer Alliance. We are not your average cheer program. We are used to being underestimated and somewhat of the underdog. I have taught my kids to make moves in SILENCE. Take whatever life throws at you and pound it out on the cheer mat. My kids know that I expect absolutely nothing but the best from them, and I will always provide them with the absolute best. We may not have the accolades that a lot of our surrounding gyms may have, but I can tell you this. We have each other, and we settle for nothing! We plan on bringing TCA to the top.

The Quest To Quest-Blogger Allie

I’m a little behind this month, but it’s a really hard this time of year in our season (especially when you  are a cross over). This week we practiced 5 days and each day we practiced for 4 hrs!  I’m exhausted, but yesterday was a big day for my gym and the practice was all worth it.  4 of our teams were competing for Varsity’s new competition. It's called the Quest and it is like the Summit for recreational teams. Boy... did we kill it! All of our teams slayed the mat! One of the coolest things happened when my J4 team came out to perform.  My old cheer team (which is an allstar team ) came out and cheered us on! How amazing is that?  The best feeling in the world is when you leave it all on the mat.

When we got to awards, that is where it got nerve wracking! My Sr3 team placed 4th but it was soooo close and the competition was really good. Matter fact,  all the teams were so good in that division! When the placements came out, my J4 team placed 1st . We were so excited, but we were waiting for the end to see if we got scored high enough to get a bid to the Quest. We waited to see which teams would be getting those 2 paid bids and 6 at large bids. There were 54 teams and only 8 bids! My stomach was in knots ... I know I didn’t breathe at all. Then, it happened. I heard the most beautiful thing in the world. They announced Titan Cheer Alliance LEGENDS!!!  WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!!!!     It’s incredible feeling and I can’t wait for the rest of the season and hopefully we can even upgrade this bid to a Paid Bid !!!

I’ll see you guys soon,
Peace , Love, and Cheer
